2. Every player is then delt two cards, face down (called hole or pocket cards).
3. The first move is up to the player to the left of the big blind. The options available are call, the bet, fold your cards or raise. Betting continues around the table in a clockwise direction.
4. When betting has ceased the dealer deals three cards face up onto the table, these cards are referred to as the flop. All cards in the middle of the table are called “community cards” meaning everyone will use them in combination with their pocket cards to create the best hand.
5. Following the flop it’s up to the player on the dealer’s left to commence the rounds betting who again has the option to check, bet or fold.
6. Following this a fourth card is to be dealt face up onto the table, referred to as the fourth street or turn card. This means there are now 4 community cards that players can use in conjunction with one or both of their pocket cards.
7. Another round of betting is undertaken and one more card is dealt face up. This card is referred to as fifth street or the river
8. After a final round of betting the remaining players reveal their pocket cards and whoever holds the highest rated five card hand made up from a combination of their pocket card/s and community cards wins the pot
